Recently, I was lucky enough to receive a pair of designer Oakley sunglasses. Now before you all go crazy, I know, I know…what’s so great about a pair of sunglasses?

Well, I should probably start by stating that I have wanted a pair of Oakley’s for YEARS but never actually managed to get my hands on some (plenty of look a likes but never the real deal). Well, my prayers were finally answered when I got a pair of Oakley Gascan sunglasses through the post around 5 weeks ago.

The Gascan in my opinion is an awesome looking style and mine in particular look sharp with their root beer frames and bronze lenses. They have a wraparound look to them and are a sturdy frame which looks the business.

They are of course available in other colours too, in fact black, white and brown. Lens wise they come with bronze, grey or black and even polarised lenses are available if you wish.

I got my Oakley sunglasses from Sunglasses Direct in Nottingham who specialise in both designer sunglasses and prescription eyewear and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Catching koalas, tagging sharks or tasting beer… if you’re fed up with the daily grind of office work then some of the posts on offer by the government of South Australia could be just the ticket.

The imaginative officials Down Under are keen to spice up the options open to bored British workers.

‘Life seems to be dealing workers a rough hand at the moment,’ said a government spokesperson.

‘Not even the recent sunny weather has cheered up the Brits.’

The jobs are available under extended working-holiday visas, in case you fancy sharpening those shark-tagging skills.

The Great Wall of China is one of the most impressive
engineering feats in the world, stretching almost 3,900 miles and
surviving for hundreds of years. However, nobody ever claimed that it
tasted very chocolatey.

But now, that one flaw has been rectified, as a team of Chinese
confectioners have built a 10 metre long replica of the structure
entirely out of chocolate – in a bid to entice Chinese people to eat
more of the sweet stuff.

The chocolate wall is made from solid
dark chocolate bricks stuck together with white chocolate, and is one
of the attractions at the World Chocolate Wonderland exhibition and
trade show which will open to the public later this month.

Chocolatier
Wang Qilu said his version of the ancient wall was a feat of
engineering in itself, with a carefully constructed crumbling section
at one end to resemble the real thing. He also had to make sure his
materials did not melt.

‘You have higher and lower levels and you
have to fit each brick into place, one by one, to build it up, it’s
difficult,’ he said.

Up to 80 tonnes of chocolate were used in
making the displays, which also include a mini-army of 560 chocolate
replicas of the famous Terracotta Warriors standing to attention on a
layer of chocolate flakes.

The show’s general manager, Tina Zheng, said she hoped the displays
would give chocolate a boost in the Chinese market and its billion-plus
consumers.

‘Chocolate has not been around in China that long, it
doesn’t have that several-thousand-year history that it does in the
West which has made chocolate as common as milk or fruit,’ she said.

‘While in China, chocolate is a speciality or something given to children, in general, it is not widely known.’

Local and foreign chocolate manufacturers will take part in the show, she added.

Butt shot

Posted: January 4, 2008 in Uncategorized

A US has man accidentally shot himself in the butt.

Daniel Leatherman, 26, from Arizona, told police he injured himself when he went to investigate an argument between a man he knew and a taxi driver outside his apartment.

Leatherman explained he took his gun with him for protection, as the man who was causing the racket, Cody Nunn, had assaulted him in the past.

Leatherman accidentally dropped his weapon as he tried to conceal it behind his back. The gun went off as it hit the floor and a bullet got lodged in his buttocks.

Leatherman was taken to hospital and released later on the same day.

Nunn – who was said to be drunk and disruptive when he arrived at the hospital with Leatherman – was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
